Industry History

Property Inspection Industry History

Prior to 1976 this industry was not regulated by any organization. But in 1976 this all changed when a professional cadre of inspectors banned together to create a governing body to oversee the home inspection industry as a whole in the United States.

The goal of this group was to set standards of importance, and to develop testing criteria for certification of the Associations’ membership that would protect the public’s interest. The culmination of their efforts were legitimized in 1998 with legislation that provided a business and professions code of conduct for the industry.

The elite group property inspection service, inc. goes above and beyond this association’s code of ethics, and their educational/ testing standards as it applies to the industry.

As this industry continues to evolve and adopts higher standards of professionalism, a very few of the original inspection companies and/or inspectors are still operating in the business. We, at the Elite Group, are proud to say that our core group of inspectors is part of the founding fathers of this industry.

The Elite Group of Inspectors survived due to their outstanding reputations (hence the name of our company). We have continued to lead the industry in every technical advancement and application. We are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art reporting, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism, at an excellent value.
