Frequently Asked Questions

What is a home inspection?

Pre-Purchase Inspection (for home buyers) A pre-purchase inspection is designed to assist home buyers in understanding the true condition of the property they are interested in purchasing. The inspection will assess the overall condition of the property. The buyer can then use the home inspection report as leverage in re-negotiating with the seller to demand that certain repairs be performed. A pre-purchase inspection provides piece of mind and helps home buyers make a more informed and educated decision about what may be the purchase of a lifetime.

Listing Inspection (for home sellers)

A Listing Inspection provides home-sellers with a true understanding of the current condition of their property. The home seller can then use the findings to repair or upgrade household systems that may be deficient, and make the property more attractive to potential buyers. The seller may also make known defects in advance, and present the house in “as-is” condition.

How do I set up a home inspection with The Elite Group?

Call us toll-free (800) 494-8998 and our knowledgeable office staff will be glad to confirm an inspection appointment for you. Or click Schedule An Inspection on the left.  Please make certain that the date and time are suitable to the other parties involved in the transaction.

About 2 to 3 hours, depending on the square footage and the condition of the property.

What is inspected?

Should I be there during the inspection?

It is not necessary for you to be present for the inspection, but it is recommended. You will be able to observe the inspector and ask questions directly, as you find out about the condition of the home.
